Bacteriostatic Water 10 ml

In laboratory workflows, lyophilized research peptides are typically handled with suitable sterile diluents such as bacteriostatic water (BAC), supporting controlled preparation and research-only handling procedures.

For a compatible research-only solvent, see Bacteriostatic Water – 10 ml.

Research Overview

Humanin is a mitochondria-derived micropeptide originally identified in surviving neurons from neurodegeneration models. In research settings it is widely used as a cytoprotective tool to study anti-apoptotic signaling, mitochondrial stress responses, and survival pathways in neural, endocrine, and metabolic tissues. As one of the first described mitochondrial-derived peptides, it also serves as a reference compound in mitochondrial communication research. No therapeutic or clinical claims are made or implied.

Primary Research Areas

Anti-apoptotic & Cytoprotective Pathways
Experimental assays exploring Humanin-mediated inhibition of apoptosis, including modulation of Bax/Bcl-2 family proteins and downstream caspase activation.
Mitochondrial-Derived Peptide Biology
Used as a reference micropeptide in studies of mitochondrial genome-encoded signaling and mitochondria-to-cell communication.
Neuroprotection & Neurodegeneration Models
Studied in experimental systems of neuronal survival, originally identified in neurons resistant to neurodegenerative insult.
Metabolic & Endocrine Stress Research
Applied in models of cellular stress responses and survival signaling in endocrine and metabolic tissues.

Bacteriostatic water 10mg Peptide Revolution

For diluting lyophilized peptide powders, use a sterile and suitable research solvent such as bacteriostatic water (BAC), which may help support handling stability and reduce contamination risk.

For convenient laboratory use, see Bacteriostatic Water – 10 ml.
